Operation Redshirt was formed in 2000 by a group of friends who wanted to reach out directly to the impoverished elderly in Singapore during the festive Chinese New Year period.

By pooling their money together, they bought essential items (oil, rice, sugar etc) to make CNY goodies bags as well as "Ang Paos" which they distributed to over one hundred individuals.

Year on year, the spirit and efforts of Operation Redshirt have increased . in the recipients, sponsors, volunteers and sponsorships. Further, the essence of Operation Redshirt stands strong.... 100% of all funds sponsored go directly to the CNY goodies bag and Ang Paos. Any related expenses are borne by the the volunteers themselves.

Thanks to all our friends who have contributed with your hearts and time.... this year marks our 10th anniversary and we will be reaching out to almost1400 people...making it a Decade of Hope.
